They found Him!

They found Him!

After two months of searching, our shepherd, Daniel, and the children finally found Jesus!

Wrapped in clothes and lying in a manger, just like the Bible tells us in Luke 2:12:
"This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger."

Daniel was so excited, to celebrate, he filled the children's stockings with some treats too!

What a party we had, celebrating our gifts from Daniel; but mostly the precious gift given to us from God: His only Son, Jesus Christ, to pay the price for our sin so we could have eternal life.

John 3:16

For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.

They Are Getting Closer...

They Are Getting Closer...

Each week the children are getting closer to Jesus as they memorize scripture and search for Daniel, our shepherd in the church.  Daniel is looking for the baby Jesus and the children have been on the journey too.

This week the children had memorized the following verse:

Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path. Psalm 119:105

They also got to have a snack together and each decorate and hung their own stockings.  We are hoping that Daniel might leave a few treats when we all come back for our Christmas Eve service!

And even though they are excited for some gifts in their stockings, along this journey, they have learned that the greatest gift they could ever receive, a savior, Jesus!

We Are Still Searching

This Week The Children Continued to Look for the Shepard in Children's Church.

Each Week, Leading up to Christmas, our Shepard, Daniel, is searching for the baby Jesus, and our children are on the hunt with him.
When they find him, he always has a special treat.  Along the way, the children are also learning memory verses and hearing the story of the birth of Jesus.

They did a great job with this week's memory verse:

"Love your neighbor as yourself"
Mark 12:31

We can't wait to see what adventure and joy next week holds...To be continued....
